Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Colin Peter Thomas Brown

The ME Grand Superintendent for the Royal Arch Province of Worcestershire is Colin Brown. Colin lives in Inkberrow in the south of the Province with his wife Patti. He was initiated into Freemasonry in 1973 and joined Royal Arch in 1982. Appointed to Grand Rank in the Craft in 1993 and as Assistant Provincial Grand Master in 2000. Acted as Provincial Third Grand Principal in 2000 and appointed to Grand Rank in 2000.

An active member of many Masonic orders, Colin's main hobby outside Masonry is golf and he is a member of Kings Norton Golf Club. When not in Lodge or on the golf course Colin spends his time reading or in the garden.

Deputy Grand Superintendent, John M. Phenix

John M Phenix is the Deputy Grand Superintendent. He was Initiated into Ogley Hay Lodge No.8917 (Staffordshire) in 1987 and became a Joining Member of The Lodge of Bon Accord No.4935 at Kings Heath in 2003. He was Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2011. In the Royal Arch, John was Exalted into Wigornia Chapter No.4935 in 1991 and was MEZ in 1998, 2004 & 2009. He served the Province as Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies from 2007 to 2011 and holds the Rank of Past Grand Standard Bearer in Supreme Grand Chapter.

John is an active Member of several other Lodges, Chapters and other Orders. Married to Sandra, he lives in Staffordshire and lists his interests as walking, reading, music and his many friends.

Cecil was appointed Provincial Grand Scribe Ezra in January 2015, having served as Provincial Assistant G.S.E. for the previous three years. Educated at Edgecliff High School in Kinver, where he lived for many years before marrying his wife Mitch and moving to Kidderminster where they still live. He worked locally in the Construction Industry for 12 years before undertaking a long career in Contract Furniture Sales, finally retiring 5 years ago from his last position as a Management Auditor.

Initiated into the Lodge of Hope and Charity No.377 in 1988 and serving as Worshipful Master in 1999. He was appointed to Prov.S.G.D. in 2004 and further promoted to P.Prov.G.Swd.B. in 2010.

Exalted into Severn Royal Arch Chapter No.5583 in 1993, he became MEZ in 2002. He also joined the Royal Arch Chapter of Hope and Charity No.377 in 2004, upon which he was appointed Scribe E on the same evening, an office he still holds. His first appointment in the Holy Royal Arch came in 2005 as Prov.G.Stwd., followed by promotions to P.Pr.G.Soj. in 2010 and P.Pr.G.Reg. in 2013., and he is a member of Worcestershire Installed First Principals No. 6889.

Cecil is active in many Masonic orders. Outside of Masonry, his hobbies and interests have included Scouting, Sailing, Squash and Swimming.

Tim was initiated into Vernon Lodge on 18th January 1994. He was fortunate to have his father deliver the Charge at his initiation although his father practised his masonry in Stockport.

Tim was Worshipful Master of Vernon Lodge in 2002 and exalted into Vernon Chapter on 16th January 2001. He became the First Principal of Vernon Chapter in September 2007.

Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies since 2015, an office he enjoys immensely.

He was fortunate to receive Acting Grand rank at Supreme Grand Chapter on 8th April 2017 and had the honour, privilege and pleasure of escorting the Second Grand Principal in the course of his year so far.

Married to Gill for 27 years, they have one daughter. When younger he played one pre-season friendly for Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club first team with Andy Gray as the star striker and Derek Dougan as the Manager. He is a lawyer practising in the field of employment law and is a civil, commercial, employment and workplace mediator a role which comes in useful in attending Provincial Grand Chapter Executive Meetings. He is a proud owner of a Liverpool season ticket!

Alan Robertson is the Provincial Grand Treasurer for the Royal Arch Province of Worcestershire. Alan, a Scot, was born in Aberdeen and he is married to another Celt – Ann – who was born in Ireland. They met in Birmingham and currently live in Astwood Bank, Redditch. Educated at Robert Gordon’s College and Aberdeen University, Alan is also a chartered accountant. He was initiated into Freemasonry in 1992 and joined Royal Arch in 1997. Alan is also the Provincial Grand Treasurer for the Craft in the Province of Worcestershire. He is an active supporter of Freemasonry in Redditch and was instrumental, with some other local Masons, in setting up the Redditch Masonic Charity.

Alan is a keen walker and rambler and – less energetically – is a collector of Canadian postal history and the jewels of the RMIB. He has been known to write the odd book and, outside of the Masonic season, can be found with his wife in Malta.

Charles Morgan Gwynn, born South Wales and educated Gowerton Grammar School and Birmingham University Medical School. Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. Retired Consultant Peadiatrician, and Research Fellow Dept. of Immunology University of Birmingham, and latterly retired part- time GP. Retired Colonel RAMC(v) Commanding Officer of NATO roled Hospital, recruited in Birmingham and W.Midlands, based in Lippstadt N.Germany. Hobbies:- Male Voice Choral singing, Trustee and Director of Acorns Childrens’ Hospice.

Masonic History:- Prov.G.Stwd. 2000, Prov.S.G.W. 2004, P.A.G.D.C. 2011. Member of Royal Arch Chapter, Mark, K.T., Rose Croix, Royal and Select Masters, Dep.Ind. General for the W.Mids. Division Red Cross of Constantine.

Ian Fothergill is the Information Officer for the Province of Worcestershire’s Royal Arch. Appointed 3rd Provincial Grand Principal in April 2012 and promoted to P.G.St.B. at the SGC Annual Investiture Convocation at the end of April 2012. He was born in Abberton, Essex, and studied business studies at SW London College. Ian spent 17 years in the Royal Marines, before his 30 year career in the Security Industry. Ian has been made a Freeman of City of London, Liveryman Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, Former Fellow Institute of Directors and Institute of Leadership and Management.

Ian was Initiated into Athol Lodge No. 5241 in 1984 and Exalted into Athol Chapter in 1987. Attaining LGR and LGCR. He was the Founder First Principal of White Ensign Chapter No. 9169 and served as Provincial Assistant Grand Scribe Ezra from 2007 - 2012, attaining the rank of P.Pr.G.Reg..

He is married to Irene and together they have a son and a daughter. In his spare time, Ian enjoys reading and playing golf, as well as being a member of a number of other Masonic Orders.
