Holy Royal Arch Chapter - Talks & Papers.
By E.Comp. Alan Wyer.
Over some years I have researched, developed and prepared many Masonic Papers (all approved by our Province) which, when so called upon, I present to Holy Royal Arch Chapters around the Province. Listed below are six titles of papers, some of which are aided by the use of Power Point presentations.
Should any Chapter require a guest speaker to assist with their meeting, my details can be found at the bottom of this article.
Holy Royal Arch Talks & Papers (Power Point Presentations = PP)
All these illustrated talks are approximately 35-40 minutes in length (no longer).
Jacob and His Times - Drawing briefly on Biblical history from Abraham to the death of Jacob, then the Symbolical Lecture which deals with the Ensigns - PP
The First or Holy Lodge - Narrative only at the moment - Dealing briefly with Joseph, then
more fully with the life of Moses. Includes references to the Standards of the Army of Israel.
Rehoboam to Artaxerxes - From the death of Solomon and the destruction of the First Temple to the completion of the Second Temple with the return of Nehemiah as Governor. - PP
The Principals' Banners - A presentation on some of their ancient origins and modern day importance. - PP
The Geometry of the Royal Arch - The R. A. Jewel, Triple Tau, and the six lights. - PP
The Ritual Changes of 1989 - The loss of the second Tetragrammaton and the Hebrew letters and other changes at the time, plus some of the later changes. - PP
I do not charge expenses within the local Provinces, but a meal and a glass of pop would be appreciated (I don’t drink alcohol).
A donation towards the Worcestershire Provincial Library and Museum Trust would be welcomed
(I do NOT ask for the charity collection).

The meeting was attended by some 90 Companions including The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent – E.Comp. Richard Price, The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent for Warwickshire – E.Comp. John Saint (a member of Campbell Chapter who meet at Kings Heath), E.Comp.Charles Harris – Deputy Grand Superintendent, E.Comp.Michael Broome – 2nd Provincial Grand Principal and E.Comp. The meeting was also Installation night and the photo to the left shows the newly installed Three Principals in their regalia. From left to right – E.Comp. David Hooker “H”, E.Comp. Joe Haynes “MEZ” and E. Comp. Peter Band “J”.
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent wished the Three Principals and all the Members well for the future and commenting on the Installation Ceremony described the Three Principals and the IPZ as an “inspiration to us all”. He doubted that the Ceremony had ever been performed in better fashion during the Chapter’s 25-year history.
During the meeting the Scribe E. of the Chapter – E. Comp. John Phenix – read a précis of the Consecration Minutes and presented a brief history of the 25 years to date.
The Chapter has been fortunate to receive some excellent talks, presentations and demonstrations over the years and Scribe E highlighted these. A number of the Founders are still active within the Chapter and were very proud to have been present to celebrate this milestone.
The photo to the left shows the Three Principals, Provincial Team and Founders immediately after the Convocation.
Any suitably qualified Companion (MEZ or PZ) who would like to join the Chapter should contact:

Frankley St.George No. 8212 Raise £2500 for the Appeal.
Saturday 6th June 2009.
Frankley St. George held their first Formal Ladies' Evening Festival for three years. Following some unfortunate difficulties due to the weather in February, an informal evening had to be cancelled, thus missing out on the opportunity to raise money for charity. This Ladies' Evening Festival was therefore a night of catching up, starting with a Pimms Reception and then a Formal Dinner.
After dinner there was entertainment from Malcolm Stent, one of Birmingham's best loved, enduring and most acclaimed entertainers. He has an unashamed pride and passion for his native city. There was plenty of jokes and anecdotal fun with his nostalgic reminicences of his youth and tales of life in the back streets of Birmingham.
Times and places may have changed, but that Brummie spirit, allied to its unique brand of humour, survives intact.
The Charity Appeal was made by the Provincial Grand Charity Steward, W.Bro. H.G. Wilson, on behalf of the Festival 2011 Appeal.
W.Bro Howard's appeal touched the hearts of all present and the magnificent total of £800 was raised during the Charity Appeal (helped by the use of Gift Aid by most of the guests) the Raffle raised £200, to which the sum of £1500 was added from the Lodge's Charity Account. The W.M., W.Bro. Paul Lewis, presented the cheque for a total of £2500 pounds for the Festival 2011 Appeal to W.Bro H.G.Wilson.

Lapal Chapter No. 6031
article by E.Comp. Roger West, Prov. Dep. G. D.C. (D.C. Lapal Chapter).
At the 216th meeting of Lapal Chapter No 6031 held last Friday evening 9th January, we were honoured with the presence of both the Grand Superindendent, E.Comp. R.B.W. Price, and the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E.Comp. C.E.S. Harris. The attending Companions witnessed the Exaltation of W.Bro. Gordon Peter David Craig of Taurus Lodge No. 3981, in the Metropolitan Grand Lodge of London, and Kings Norton Lodge No. 4001, in our own Province of Worcestershire.
This brings our membership to 39 with a double Exultation Ceremony to look forward to in March and still another candidate for the following convocation - Royal Arch is indeed flourishing in Halesowen, particularly in Lapal Chapter. Another highlight of the evening was the proposal that both the Grand Superintendent and the Deputy Grand Superintendent be made honoury members of the Chapter - if (when) elected at the next convocation both said that they felt most pleased to be so honoured.
The evening was completed by a fantastic Festive Board and all went home more than satisfied (particularly the Chapter D.C., E.Comp. Roger West.
