Worcestershire Provincial Library and Museum

Rainbow Hill, Worcestershire

Information for this webpage comes from the Worcestershire Provincial Year Book, Photos from Provincial Library and Museum. Thanks also to the hardworking Historian Masons at the Library and Museum for their help and assistance with this site: E.Comps. J.T. Hart, J.L. Vickers, J.E. Tapson and A.J. King.

The Province of Worcestershire is most fortunate in possessing the finest collection of Masonic items in the English Constitution, other than that belonging to Grand Lodge itself. The Library and Museum was formed towards the end of the last century by the late W.Bro. George Taylor, P.G.St.B., PM 1874, to whose zealous enthusiasm and discrimination it will remain as abiding testimony.

Comprising over 3 500 manuscripts, books and publications, many jewels, medals and tokens, numerous pictures and engravings, examples of china, glass, wood, aprons and clothing, the exhibits represent many countries and languages, and embrace a wide range from 'operative' periods to contemporaneity.

The Library and Museum is situated in the Masonic Hall, Rainbow Hill, Worcester WR8 8LY (map).
Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and on other days by appointment with the Librarian and Curator E.Comp. John T. Hart, MA.

Lodges, Royal Arch Chapters and other Masonic bodies, together with ladies and gentlemen who are not Freemasons, are most welcome to visit.
