Deputy Grand Superintendent Celebrates 50 years in the Craft

Friday 23rd February was a Red Letter Day for our Deputy Grand Superintendent, when he celebrated his having served for 50 years in the Craft.

This took place at the Regular Meeting of Red Rose Lodge No.7600 and his Certificate was presented by the RW Provincial Grand Master, Robert C Vaughan, with our own Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, E. Comp. Colin Brown keeping a “weather eye” on proceedings.

During the Presentation many of the 45 Brethren in attendance were surprised to hear of Michael’s passion for Horses and of course his service to so many Masonic Orders where he holds or has held numerous roles as Treasurer.

It is perhaps fitting that he will resign from his position as Deputy Grand Superintendent in April following a very successful period in Office which, due to the MEGS medical condition, allowed him to Preside at last year’s Provincial Convocation.

At the festive board, the Provincial Grand Master presented Michael with something which could perhaps have been mistaken for a bottle of Scotch. However it turned out to be a gift from W. Bro. Stuart Edwards and his good lady Val, in recognition of and Stuart’s amusement, that Michael is happy to eat Tartare Sauce with most main courses including fish and for some years has supplied Mike with those little motorway sachets of it whenever they met.
